Alfie has been in and out of rehab since the age of thirteen. An only child, shared between two big time career people with a broken marriage, she was raised largely by au pairs and nannies and spent next to no actual time with her parents until she was old enough to be taken out, dressed up nicely and behave the way she was expected to without having to be reminded to do so, and even then her time with her parents was limited to only a few hours a week for whichever parent she was staying with. As such, Alfie missed out on her childhood, not having her parents around to give her the care and attention she craved or the company of other children to learn important social skills from, so really its not surprising that she’s ended up the way she has.
Growing up, a great deal of emphasis was put on appearance what with both her parents being beautiful people and having jobs where they worked with the beautiful people, and Alfie herself having been offered a modelling contract at the tender age of fourteen, she was always very aware of her looks and her body and her weight, especially having found out from an early age that when you stop eating, people suddenly start to notice you, just the same as when small scars start appearing all over your arms and legs. A lot of the time these exercises were attention seeking ones, cries out to her parents for more time and more of what she needed from them, but at some point, and she cant really pin point it to an exact event, but somewhere along the line it became less about being noticed, more about power, more about control and more about just liking the thrill it gave her.
Pulling away from her social circle as soon as she could, Freddie got herself in with the wrong crowd. Having already befriended the wrong people at her posh boarding school and started smoking and taking soft drugs, Freddie now started getting deeper into working class culture, desperately seeking approval and acceptance from anywhere she could find it, and this is when the harder drugs started being passed around and the prescription pills.
Upon finding out about their daughters new friends and her new habits and seeing that rehab was having no effect whatsoever on the situation, Freddie was sent off to a new “school” and now it seems that out of sight really is out of mind.
