Sarah jumped on her standard, grey covered, lumpy bed and sighed. She was the only one in the dorm, and as much as she hated to admit it, she was feeling pretty lonely. She would've gone to the common room or something, but she was just too lazy. This was one of those days where she just couldn't be arsed to do anything aside sit around and mope. Fun.
Leaning over to the bedside table that was exactly the same as everyone else’s, she hit the button on her small plastic stereo and the beginning of 'Girlfriend' by Avril Lavigne began to play. Sarah relaxed slightly on her bed, and stretched out, rolling her neck from side to side. She hadn't been at the Institute long enough to really know anyone; she didn't know the name of a single person in her dorm.
Sarah began to sing along with the music. 'Hey hey, You you, I don't like your girlfriend, No no, No way, Think you need a new one, Hey hey, You you, I could be your girlfriend.' Sarah was singing at top volume, and she almost cringed as her voice cracked on a high note. She was not cut out for singing; nevertheless, it was pretty damn fun and she was going to carry on. She was hoping that nobody would come in though, it was quite embarrassing. She wouldn't want one of the guys to walk in and see her singing like a total idiot. Actually, she wouldn't want one of the girls to walk in and see her being an idiot. She was just coming to terms with her sexuality - bi - and she still felt a little awkward about it. Maybe being here would help that.
'Yeah, I bet. I'll get a girlfriend and become completely normal and be integrated back into society.' Sarah snorted a little at the thought. Like she would ever be normal. She didn't get why they wouldn't let her just slit her wrists and be done with it, to be honest. It was totally pointless them keeping everyone here, locked up. It would probably just make them all crazier; being around other crazies.
