Ellie's blue eyes were wide with disbelief as John ripped her from the car. Holding her by her upper arms, so not to hurt the wraps on her wrists. You need help Ellie. he cried out. Her mom got out of the car Yes dear, these people will help you, they're nice. I've talked to the ladies on the phone, very nice indeed. she cooed soothingly.
No no no no! Ellie shouted struggling and tossing against John, fighting against his grip. She wanted to kick him in the shin and run away. So far away that they'd never find her. She didn't want this, she didn't deserve this. This wasn't for her. It was an accident. Her mind was racing as she was basically dragged towards the stairs of the asylum.
I'm not crazy, I'm not I promise. I'll be good. It was an accident. she cried out. Tears streaming down her face, hot saline, a salty taste kissing her lips. Oh please oh please god. she looked towards the gray clouds for help, but if God heard her he did not answer...
We promise it's not for crazy people, just til you get better. That's it, just til you're better. her mother replied opening the gate.
I don't want to! she exclaimed at the top of her lungs. Some of the guards came out to help John, Picking her up so her feet wouldn't touch the ground. They entered the first room. It was lavish with a nice desk, welcoming with pretty decor. See, it's so nice here. You'll love it, it'll be like vacation. Like one at a nice hotel. her mom replied signing some of the papers for Ellie's stay.
what about school? I have a big test tomorrow. Ellie begged hoping for some kind of leverage. Oh now hon, it's over. You were in the hospital for a week. You can go to school here. he mother replied.
The guards set Ellie on a couch. both standing on either side of here while another got here suitcase. Her mother spoke softly to the receptionist and then came over to Ellie, We'll see you soon hon. she said warmly and then went to give Ellie a hug.
She didn't return it though, her arms motionless at her sides. She didn't know what to do. This had to be a dream, it couldn't be real. She felt the anger rising, the choking in her throat. More tears, everywhere. She felt like she was drowning. Her mother backed away hesitantly and then looked at John. We gotta go, we'll be back in two months, she needs this. he replied urging her on. He took her hand and walked her to the door. She turned back and looked at Ellie.
Everything was going to fast she felt faint she looked over at her mother, her voice quivering, Mommie... he small fluttery voice was small and distant. I hate you. she exclaimed defiantly. She felt empowered as the pain fell across her mom's face. The shameful walk she took as she left. She'd been waiting to say that forever. She meant it. Every word.
