Three days passed since the brown haired girl had first arrived. It was becoming clear, now, that this would be her fate for an undetermined amount of time. She had not tried to escape; she realized that there was no escaping this limbo of worlds that she had been placed in. Waiting for hell or begging for heaven, neither option caught her fancy. Wonderment and fascination were constant in her mind. Where had her internal organs gone? Her body was any empty vessel, drifting aimlessly within her assigned dorm. She changed her clothes like a mechanical device. The black baggy t-shirt, with a large brightly multi-coloured band logo on the front, slipped over her head effortlessly. Arms then shifted to pulling her light blue jeans over her ankles; body agitating and bouncing lightly to pull them up and close the zipper. Her eyes did not wander to the mirror as she hastily passed by. Black nailed fingers pulled a small top drawer open; they clutched a silver flask with engraving on it. She slipped the precious item into her short pocket, lifting her loose t-shirt to cover it. She still could not believe the staff allowed her to keep the container, simply because she claimed the sentimental value was far too great to part with. A giggle left her lips before she threw on her brown converse shoes. Someone called out a word to her but this did not slow her swift exit through the door. Acquaintances had not yet been made with her new roommates, and she planned on keeping it that way for a while.
Reverie strolled down the hallway and through the rest of the Asylum to the closest departure. Reaching the main doors could not have taken longer, the place was huge! A grin played across her features as she imagined the havoc that could be created.. Her almond brown waves whirled from around her face and shoulders to soar off of her head as her arms pushed the door open with an obvious strength. Pupils struggled to adjust to the brightly lit area. Her brow greatly furrowed and lids brutally squinted. She hissed at the Sun, jokingly clawing her fingers at her pale face. A few popular kids glared at her display. Their orange flesh was a sickening sight. Reverie tossed a hiss at them too, also raising a fist to the air in a punching manner before extending her middle finger. They all looked the same; they all held exact similarities to the preps from her old high school. She sent them a disgusted glare over her shoulder, grasping for her pack of cigarettes at the same time. It was then that a moron stepped out in front of her and brushed against her shoulder. This caused her to drop the cigarette that her shaky hands were trying to clutch. “What the fuck! You idiot! Come do that again!” Reverie’s harsh and raspy voice called out in rage. She took two running strides toward the stranger but he was already making distance, and fast! She continued to mutter and grumble to herself, blocking out the laughter from the group of popular kids and looking at the ground for the smoke.
A shrug rolled across the girl’s black clothed shoulders. She pulled her pack out again and grasped a new one. The situation had calmed her sober hands. Soon, the adrenaline slowed and her hands became shaky again; it was a struggle to light her cigarette. The shitty lighter that she had found on the hallway floor was not helping the situation. “Jesus fucking christ!” Reverie violently screamed, whirling her body around and pitching the useless device at the cluster of trendy idiots with great force. The girls squealed and daintily jumped while all the boys shouted smart assed comments. “Yeah c’mon over here and say that!” She yelled at them in her deep but feminine tone. Turning around, she began to saunter toward the only tree that had nobody under it.
There was this face of Asian decent that caught Reverie’s eye and swayed her direction. A certain, “fuck off,” vibe was invisibly bleeding from his body. That aura was comforting to the unruly teenager. Thin smirking lips plagued her face as a lighter expression collected in her eyebrows. The wind carried her thick hair in a swarm across her vision, causing her hands to interfere and push it back over her head. “Hey man!” She called to the Asian guy as he passed her without so much as a glimpse. Reverie was used to being overlooked. She did not possess a perfectly sculpted nor attractively thin body. She also didn’t tend to dress in the most revealing of ways.. Or bother to do her hair, or even put on more than a little eyeliner and thick mascara. And do not forget those sickly shadowed bags that hung below her eyes, which only ever disappeared in this bright sunlight. It was not that she didn’t hold an attractiveness; it was that she simply refused to take care of her image, and it showed.
“Borrow me a lighter?” Reverie loudly asked him with more of a demanding tone than questioning. Her voice was rough and barely resembled that of a female. Black finger tips pushed the smoke against her lips and the pinkish flesh squeezed to hold it there. Azure blue eyes intently stared at him, feet beginning to shift below her to follow him; it seemed that he might not stop. Hell, he was the only person around here that looked worth conversing with!
