It was a bright sunny day and Alexander found himself frolicking in awkward joyousness. It was a rather a lonely sort of joyousness though because Alexander had no friends here. Once he had friends but they had all ditched him when he offered to share a battery acid sandwich with them. He couldn’t help that those batteries in his parents fridge just looked ever so deliciously delectable. He fondly remembered the days when he could eat whatever he wanted at his parents’ home. Now when he tried to eat dangerously yummy things he got his stomach pumped which was definitely a rather painful process. That was so lame and so gross. He hated the way he felt after those sorts of evil nasty adventures. He settled for trying not to eat things like rocks and pencils or other things that the doctors would take out of him, not to say that he wasn’t tempted but he didn’t like going down on the operating table.
Before long Alexander found frolicking to be rather too much work so he collapsed on the lawn and stared up at the sky. It was moments like this when he wished if only he could just stare at the sun without going blind. That would be one hell of a super power. You could trick your enemies into sun gazing and watch as they burned their eyeballs out. Then you could just pummel them because it’s seriously way easier to beat the crap out of a blind man than a not blind man. If only if only he thought to himself; the world didn’t have super villains and super heroes though. Even if he could stare at the sun it probably wouldn’t do him much good at all. It’d be a nifty party trick though. If anything he’d probably just show off that he could stare at the sun for hours and hours and it wouldn’t bother him.
Soon this too became boring and somewhat uncomfortable. You see Alexander was a pale sort of creature and he sun burned very easily; especially when he didn’t put on sun block, which was always. So as one can easily assume all his exposed skin was beginning to turn a rather bright pinkish shade. Poking himself he found that the bright pinkish spots on his skin were rather tender as though he had in fact been sunburned.
”Well this sucks donkey balls,” he said as he sat up and looked around. He was deciding whether or not to risk third degree sunburns in other to remain outside on this most glorious day. Deciding that sunshine was probably too painful he headed for the nearest building.
Now contrary to popular belief the only people that read aren’t in fact nerds. Actually Alexander was rather fond of reading and other such intellectual activities more or less because of the fact that he liked to feel like he was smarter than everyone. Now it should be stated that he avoided homework assignments like the plague. He was rather glad to be out of high school because of that fact and he certainly had no plans of attending college. Even if he had planned on college he figured he was stuck here for life so it wouldn’t matter either way. He was glad that he didn’t have homework anymore.
Now, as it were, the building that Alexander had happened upon was the Library. He of course didn’t mind because, as stated earlier, he liked to read and be weird like that. So he entered the library feigning immense amounts of confidence as he passed by all the awkward smelly nerdy kids. He liked to pretend he was better than them although most days he felt lower than the dirt they walked on. Feigning awesomeness he went and sat in a corner of the library while he contemplated what book he should grab to read. He needed one that made him look cool and awesome but really, really smart too. He was trying to show off without having to stand up and yell, ”HEY ALL YOU LOSERS! I’M WAAAAAAY MORE AWSOME THAN YOU!”
