WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • Max’s life had been pretty okay during the last week; at the very least a couple of good things had happened to him in that time. He had met and befriended Sil, a very cute girl that was part of the Emo clique. Personally the cliques did not matter because they were just groups and did not make the people that were a part of them. Max had to admit that it was nice being needed by someone for once; and there was no doubt that Sil really needed him as a friend. There were days where he would just hug her for an hour while she cried into his chest; him just patting and rubbing her back the whole time. He had discovered that he was really good at hugging and comforting people in need; something that Sil had told him over and over. He felt that they had things in common and that was made them such good friends; he knew where she was coming from and could sympathize with her. After that he and his friend room mate Toni had fucked like crazy yet again; it had been a time of simply pure pleasure and his mind went back to it every now and then when he was alone. He truly wanted to go another round with Toni sometime soon, the boy had been introduced to sex and now he was hooked.
Today he was in a good mood so he decided that it was a good day to go outside to the gardens and draw some flowers. He quickly dressed and grabbed his only pair of sunglasses before grabbing his drawing stuff; before he closed and locked his door. Doing all he could to contain himself from skipping he wondered down the halls; trying to remember the way to the garden. He walked past some rooms and could have sworn that he heard moaning; blushing he walked faster and was thankful when he found the right door. Pushing the door open he quickly closed his eyes as he put on his sunglasses; it had been so long that he had seen such a beautiful day. Grinning at how beautiful the garden was he strolled out until he found a good patch of grass that sat right next to a patch of violets. Sitting down he crossed his legs Indian style and pulled out his Ipod and stuck the ear buds into his ears. Picking a random song he propped his sketchpad on his lap and flipped over to a fresh blank page.
Holding his drawing pencil he looked up at the violets and just stared at them for a good ten minutes; a habit of his which he did every time before he drew something sitting in front of him. Finally he pressed the pencil to the pad and started drawing from the recent memory; only looking at the flowers when he really had too. A good thirty minutes passed and then he looked down at what he had done so far. There were at least ten or so violets in the little group and he had managed to draw four of them. He set his pencil on the sketchpad and figured that he was in no rush to finish the drawing. Mouthing a silent yawn he suddenly looked up as he could have sworn he saw a flash of moment. Shrugging to himself he looked at the flowers again, wondering if he should pick one for Sil. He figured that she could use such a beautiful flower to cheer her up, perhaps he would go visit her once he got bored sitting out in the sun.

JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL LIVIN' IN A LONELY WORLD{ she took the midnight train goin' anywhere }Jessa wasn't sure how she was ever going to get used to her new life in the asylum called Stanfield. Being a ward of the state never helped much either, and being only twelve years old meant that she wasn't allowed to make any decisions herself. Jessa begged them not to send her to Stanfield, but nothing she said made any difference after she started meeting with psych doctors. Tears began to fill the child's eyes, but she quickly wiped them away, not wanting someone to make fun of her for crying. She didn't hear much of anything going on around her, as she wandered across the grounds towards the flower gardens. Being slightly deaf was a great disadvantage for so many things in Jessa's life, but there was nothing that she could do about it. A cochlear implant was something that could fix the child's hearing problems, but she was too afraid of the surgery to even think about it. Jessa had lied many times to convince doctors that she was just fine with her limited hearing and would rather wait until she was truly ready, even if it meant never getting full hearing.
The gentle July breeze blew through the child's hair that she had pulled back into matching pigtails. Her outfit was beyond adorable with her yellow baby doll tee and jean shorts. Jessa was also wearing her favourite pair of pink revolution volatile sneakers. The child wrapped her arms around her tiny frame as she continued wandering though the grass taking in all the different scents coming from the flower garden and the air around her. While she didn't have much for hearing, her other four senses kinda took over for the one that was lacking, and she basically had all five of her senses even if her hearing wasn't completely there. Hearing was not the only way to learn about your surroundings, and Jessa was one child at Stanfield that could prove that.
Jessa smiled as she looked around at the bright sunshine that surrounded the grounds of Stanfield. While it was truth that Jessa hated being at Stanfield, she did like being far away from her father. The new freedom that she had away from that twisted bastard was something the child would never forget. The question of how long Jessa was going to be at Stanfield was unknown, but would obviously be figured out as the years went on. Jessa turned suddenly when she thought she could feel something, or someone breathing down her neck. Chills immediately ran down the girl's spine as she wrapped her arms tighter around her little frame looking around frantically. The child closed her eyes tightly as she suddenly found herself on her knees curling up and crying out, "NO...Please! Don''t! Please!" Her voice sounded slightly different, from most children that had been able to hear since birth, but for Jessa, it was something unique about her. WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • Max had been looking at the violets so much that he barely noticed anything else around him; his eyes were just focused on the flowers. His music was blaring in his ears which meant that if someone were sneaking up on him he would have no idea until it was too late. All he could think of was how the purple flowers reminded him of Sil’s highlights. Thinking of his friend just made him smile more than he ever had before; the day they had met had been one of the best days of his life. Sure she had been crying in terror at first but it had ended with them sharing a tender kiss; the first kiss from a girl he had gotten in his entire life. The desire to pick the whole patch of flowers and bring them to her was very strong; he just knew that it would bring a big smile to her face. Blushing at the thought of her reaction he tried to get the focus to keep drawing the picture. The flowers wouldn’t last forever but the picture would sure last longer; he would go and give it to Sil when he finished. Well he would have to go get his colored pencils and make them purple so she would know what they were.
His song ended and he turned his Ipod off and took the ear buds out of his ears; getting ready to stretch his legs before he drew the rest of the flowers. As soon as his Ipod was lying on the sketchpad he heard the sound of a girl crying out; his head shot up as he tried to look for the source of the noise. It did not take him long until he spotted a small figure huddled down on her knees with her arms wrapped around herself. Max frowned as he slowly stood up; not entirely sure what had happened. He looked around the garden for someone who might have tried to hurt her or scared her. Seeing that no one was there he figured that the girl was just seeing something; much like Sil had when they had first met. It was pretty much the same situation only she had not run over to him and hugged him. He knew what he had to do as he slowly walked over to her; hoping she would not freak when she saw him coming towards her. He stopped right in front of her and bent down on his knees; unable to get a good look at her face. But by how small she was he had to figure that she was younger than him.
“Hey, I am not going to hurt you”;
he said softly as he frowned at her the whole time. He really did not know if he should try and make physical contact with her; he really had no idea how she would react to him. He slowly moved his hand over to her shoulder and gently started to rub it; hoping that she would not jump up and run away. So long as she was here being afraid he was not going to go anywhere; even if she did not want him to be there right now. He kept rubbing her shoulder and did not try to even get her into an embracing hug. He had only hugged Sil because she did first; and he knew that not every girl was into hugging a stranger. So he would keep doing what he was doing until she either stopped him or realized that he was real and not an illusion caused by her mind. this is you thinking !" this is you speaking ! JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL LIVIN' IN A LONELY WORLD{ she took the midnight train goin' anywhere }Too many thoughts were going through the child's mind as she curled up tighter. Jessa didn't realize that her father was nowhere near her, or Stanfield, but the strange feeling she was having said different. The child was still screaming and crying out, to literally nobody. Nobody who was close enough to her was going to hurt her, but with her eyes tightly shut and buried within her knees, she didn't see anybody. No sounds could be heard around the small girl, except for the faint crying out that escaped her lips, as she sat shaking like a leaf.
Jessa's mind was making her re-live all the days her father abused her. The child curled up in a ball on the ground still crying out, as she heard her father's voice ringing through her head, over and over again. "I told you I'd come back for you. You're nothing but a little whore nobody will want." The child curled up tighter as she began screaming more, "GO AWAY! I hate you! I hate you! Mommmmmyyyy!" The child's breathing was becoming a lot faster as a panic attack started taking over Jessa's calmness.
The child was starting to panic more as she began rocking back and forth, curling up in the grass. Hearing another person talking to her, Jessa was pulled away from the memories as she looked up. The child was still panicking to hell as back as she tried to pull away. "No...no...He'll get you...too. He swore I'd...not get away." The child was more or less speaking nonsense, but at that moment, everything seemed so real to her. WARRIOR POET ONCE SAID ," you're not dead yet so live like you could be . " • • • • • • • • • • • • Max had no idea what was going on with the girl but it was clear to him that she was in distress. He just stood bent down on his knees as she cried out. She closed her eyes even more and buried herself in her knees; she was very determined to try and ignore all outside noises. Max just kept rubbing her shoulder; so un sure of what he could say to her. She curled into a ball even more and Max had to admit that he felt really useless; when he had comforted Sil it had been so much easier. She just kept screaming and he started to debate if he should go and get someone but not like anyone would give a damn about her. Her words confused him because there was no one else around; obviously she was having bad memories about her mother. He noticed how her breathing had picked up; she was going to faint at this rate. He moved his hand down and started to rub her back; it was the only thing he knew to do with a stranger who was in distress. He would try and hug her but he had no clue how she would react to it; for all he knew she would just go crazy and smack him silly.
She started to rock back and forth as she curled up on the grass; Max was at a complete loss how he should proceed. She finally looked up and he had to admit she looked cute; but he figured that she was younger than he was. He had figured that he was one of the youngest people in this place but he was clearly wrong. He refocused and noticed that she was pulling away from him; but he wasn’t really insulted because he knew that she was not afraid of him. “There is no one else here but me”;
he said in a soft voice as he kept rubbing her back gently. He was so tempted to bring her into a hug but she was just freaked out with him being close by. “I promise I am not going to hurt you in anyway…. my name is Max by the way”; he said softly in the hopes he would calm her down a bit. He could keep trying to comfort her or he could step back but he had no idea. He moved his hand and rested in on her head and patted her poufy hair.
