AYDEN CALLUM
Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me.
As the ground vanishes I wonder will the sky be the next to fail me?
Paint abandons canvas.
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch.
As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse?
Why should I even try to stop the collapse? Why should I even try?

Alice (Allie) Callum - Five at age of death. (Deceased)
* / OTHER FAMILY[/b] N/A
* / HISTORY[/b] Ayden was born into a seemingly normal family. They did normal family things, such as read stories and watch movies together. Ayden was a sweet boy, even as a baby, he loved to be cuddled and held. It was no surprise that, at the age of two, he even adored to cuddle with his newborn sister. They grew up very close, and not even once did he tug on her pretty little braids once she had them. They were nearly impossible to separate. Aydie loved his little sister more than anything in the world, protecting her from bullies, and holding her hand whenever they went for walks, so that she wouldn’t get lost.
Not long after Allie’s fifth birthday, she must have seen their father preparing to leave via dogsled, and watched as he walked away from the sled and into the house. Ayden, being feverish at the time, was in his bed asleep and oblivious of his sister’s act of crawling onto the dogsled and playing on it, eventually leading her to do what would be expected of a curious child. She tried to make the dogs run. Surely enough, they did, but Allie had little idea of how to manage the sled, resulting in the dogs growing out of control and the bulky sled being flipped, crushing the small girl beneath it. Unable to scream from the pressure on her lungs, she waited under the sled for anyone to come outside.
Awakening, Ayden couldn’t find Allie, but her stuffed teddy bear next to him, and carried it with him as he searched the house, to find his dad drinking coffee. He didn’t think to ask his father where Alice was, and continued searching until he gave up. Hearing barking, he shuffled outside in his pajamas and a big pair of boots, and made his way toward the scene, where he found the dogs standing, confused, while barking at the tipped sled. Panic ensued, as he got closer and saw a tiny hand sticking out from beneath the sled, and upon a few steps further, recognized Allie. His screaming alerted his father, who ran out to find the scene, and called the hospital. Not even an hour later, Alice Callum was announced dead by doctors.
It seemed that Ayden’s family spiraled down from that point. He was pulled from public school and was homeschooled by his grief-stricken mother. At this point, he grew up very isolated from other people, and soon began having horrible nightmares of coming across his sister’s corpse. Though his parents told him many times over that it wasn’t his fault, he couldn’t help but blame himself for not being awake to watch his little sister. The only thing that soothed the nightmares, though only temporarily, was Allie’s stuffed bear, which he still carries with him.
His mom only let him outside under supervision until the age of thirteen, in which he father forced her to allow him some freedom. Oddly, though it killed his sister, he instantly took a liking to dog sledding, and gained a very close bond to a group of dogs that he had been able to pick out, on his fourteenth birthday, as a present from his dad. But things began to shine through that Ayden had been quiet about before. He had never mentioned his paranoia to his parents, as he began to think at a young age that the world was destined to plot against him, after his precious little sister’s passing. The first warning was when he vanished for two days, only to return safely. When questioned, he informed them that he thought that a nearby man who was also dog sledding was going to follow him home.
Soon, unknown to his parents, he began paying men in town to buy him knives from shops. He only was caught once, in a tree-filled area, by his father, spotting him throwing a knife at a target carved into the tree. His father, thinking it was a “boy” thing, let it be, and thought nothing of the boy’s strange. This was probably a mistake, as only a few weeks later, he was painting, and a squirrel was on a nearby tree stump. Without thinking about his mom watching through the window, he threw a knife and, shockingly, hit the squirrel with it. His mother ran out, screaming at him and asking what he was thinking, to which he replied with a shocking answer. ”It was watching me. It wanted to steal my work. Nobody’s going to steal what’s mine.”
This resulted in the panicked mother’s “only resort,” which was to send him someplace for help, though it was against his dad’s wishes. As a Sophomore, fifteen year old Ayden Callum was re-introduced to the schooling scene, as he was sent to school at Stanfield Academy.
